Auditions for Matilda The Musical

Characters:

• Matilda Wormwood – A smart, curious, and quietly strong young girl. Requires strong acting, singing, and some dancing. British accent.
• Miss Trunchbull – The terrifying headmistress. Traditionally played by a male actor in drag; demands comedic precision and physicality.
• Miss Honey – The kind and gentle teacher who sees Matilda’s potential. Strong vocals and warmth.
• Mr. and Mrs. Wormwood – Matilda’s loud, selfish, and ridiculous parents. Comedic timing and bold character choices are key.
• Bruce, Lavender, and other students – Energetic and diverse group with singing, dancing, and ensemble acting skills.
• The Escapologist & Acrobat – Characters in Matilda’s storytelling sequences; expressive movement or dance often featured.
