Maria Wilken directs, with musical direction by Marcia Braswell.
Come From Away is a powerful and uplifting musical based on the remarkable true story of what happened in the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, in the days following September 11, 2001. When 38 planes carrying thousands of passengers were unexpectedly diverted there, the local community opened its homes, schools, and hearts to complete strangers from around the world.
Through a fast-moving blend of music, humor, and deeply human storytelling, the musical follows both the stranded travelers and the residents who suddenly find themselves caring for them. Friendships form, cultures meet, fears are confronted, and ordinary people discover how much kindness can matter during an extraordinary crisis.
Warm, funny, and moving, Come From Away is a celebration of compassion, generosity, resilience, and the connections that can be created when people choose to help one another.
