TRIFLES
In the aftermath of a shocking murder on an isolated Iowa farm, the men focus on gathering evidence while the women quietly piece together the story hidden within the ordinary details of a household. What begins as a simple investigation becomes a powerful examination of justice, isolation, and the experiences of women whose lives are too often overlooked.
Characters:
Martha Hale – Practical farm wife; observant and compassionate.
Mrs. Peters – Sheriff’s wife; quiet, thoughtful, and empathetic.
George Henderson – County attorney; intelligent and ambitious.
Henry Peters – Sheriff; dutiful and methodical.
Lewis Hale – Neighbouring farmer; honest and straightforward. (May be combined with Henry Peters.)
SUPPRESSED DESIRES
A witty comedy that satirizes the early psychoanalysis craze as one woman’s obsession with dream interpretation threatens to unravel her marriage and family relationships.
Characters:
Henrietta Brewster – Enthusiastic amateur psychoanalyst; energetic and self-assured.
Stephen Brewster – Her husband; practical, patient, and increasingly exasperated.
Mabel Sage – Henrietta’s sister; intelligent, charming, and skeptical.
Note: Actors will be cast in roles across both plays, with some doubling possible.
