Auditions for The Prince of Eygypt

The Prince of Egypt is a sweeping epic of a musical with music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar winner Stephen Schwartz, a book by Philip LaZebnik, and 10 new songs written by Schwartz, together with five of his songs from the DreamWorks Animation film. The show also features Schwartz’s Academy Award-winning song, “When You Believe.”

Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.

In order for your performer to audition, please read the packet carefully and bring ALL FORMS COMPLETED to auditions. Please sign up for a scheduled time slot for either Friday, August 8 from 6:00-9:00pm and Saturday, August 9 from 10:00am – 5:00pm.

Callbacks, if necessary, will be August 10 in the afternoon.  PLEASE NOTE that there is a dance audition in blocks depending on when you sign up for an audition. You MUST make that dance audition that pertains to the time slot you sign up for. If you cannot come during a scheduled audition slot, please contact the directors through gtpegypt@gmail.com . Video auditions will be accepted upon notifying the directors.

Your performer must prepare a 1-minute monologue and 16 measures of a classic musical theater song suiting the style of The Prince of Egypt. A piano accompanist will be at auditions; please arrive with sheet music properly assembled. There will be no recordings or music tracks permitted.
